British Dragon Association announces new partnership with Aberdeen Asset Management

The BDA is delighted to announce a new three year sponsorship agreement with long standing partner Aberdeen Asset Management PLC. Aberdeen Asset Management first became a sponsor of the BDA in 2006 and the two organisations have enjoyed an extremely successful partnership for the past three seasons. Building on that success the new contract will see Aberdeen take a more proactive promotional role at key British Dragon events as well as extending its existing year round class support programme.

The Dragon has always been one of the most highly regarded one-design fleets in the UK and our ongoing partnership with Aberdeen will help us to further develop the class and ensure its long-term future."

For the 2009 season Aberdeen will sponsor the Dragon South-West Championship in Falmouth from 5-7 July, the Edinburgh Cup also in Falmouth from 8-11 July. The Edinburgh Cup, presented to the class by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh in 1948, is awarded annually to the winner of the British Open National Championship and is one of the most prestigious and hotly contested trophies in British yachting. The 2009 events will be hosted by the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club, Falmouth Cornwall.
