10 March 2010
The first weekend of March saw a Dragon on display for the second year running at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace where the boat was hugely well received and drew a constant stream of admiring visitors. Thanks must go to Petticrows for all their help and support in providing the boat and setting up the stand and to all the volunteers from the BDA who gave up time over the weekend to man the stand.

This year the Dragon stand was more centrally positioned which helped improve our visibility. The stand was busy throughout the weekend and it was exciting to meet so many people who simply love the Dragon. Visitors ranged from small children dragging their parents onto the stand to look at the most glamorous and biggest boat in the show (fingers crossed those small children will be back in a few years time to talk about how to start sailing Dragons), to old friends who had raced in the class in the past and were returning for a trip down memory lane and most excitingly of all a considrable number of sailors from other classes interested in owning or crewing a Dragon. The team took the details of all interested parties and will be contacting them to set up trial sails in the coming days.
